We’re excited to announce the successful completion of another major project for ESM Power – supporting our client through the final stage of a landmark 28MW 132kV Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the South East of England.
This project highlights ESM Power’s end-to-end expertise in delivering complex, high-voltage infrastructure. From the initial design phase through to full construction and energisation, our in-house teams have worked collaboratively to deliver the complete scope of works. Acting as the Independent Connection Provider (ICP),we managed the connection to the local network, ensuring compliance, safety and seamless integration. Additionally, by providing the Balance of Plant (BoP), we oversaw and coordinated all supporting infrastructure essential for the project’s operation.
Battery Energy Storage Systems like this play an increasingly critical role in supporting the UK’s transition to a more sustainable, low-carbon energy network. By storing and releasing electricity when it’s needed most, BESS projects help stabilise the grid, integrate renewable generation and improve energy resilience.
Delivering a project of this scale and complexity requires the combined efforts of many – from design engineers and project managers to construction teams and commissioning specialists. A huge well done to everyone involved for their hard work, expertise and commitment to excellence.
At ESM Power, we’re proud to help our clients unlock the full potential of the UK’s energy infrastructure – delivering reliable, cost-effective and future-ready solutions.
