Roger Bamford

BEng (Hons) CEng MIET

Managing Director

Roger Bamford BEng (Hons) CEng MIET, is the Managing Director and founder of ESM Power Ltd. Beginning his career at Yorkshire Electricity Distribution plc, Roger spent 18 years holding a number of senior management positions. As a Chartered Electrical Engineer and Senior Authorised Person, Roger has helped grow ESM Power into the business it is today.

Louise Bamford

Business Services Director

Louise Bamford is the Business Services Director and has been a part of ESM Power Ltd from its conception. Beginning her career with Humberside County Council, Louise joined Yorkshire Electricity Distribution plc and spent nearly 13 years holding several management positions. Louise was also previously a key player in the set-up and running of an unrelated successful local business.

Adam Scott

FCCA

Finance Director

Adam Scott FCCA, is the Finance Director of ESM Power Ltd. Beginning his career at a firm of chartered accountants based in Burton upon Trent, Adam relocated to a larger firm in Sheffield where he completed his studies, ultimately qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant. Adam joined ESM Power in 2014 and currently oversees the Finance and Tendering departments as well as partnering with the other directors in overall business and commercial strategy.

Kevin Smith

Business Development Director

Kevin Smith is the Business Development Director with ESM Power Ltd. He has a wealth of experience in the Utilities sector, having spent over 25 years with East Midlands Electricity/Powergen/E.On in various commercial, business development and operational leadership roles. Following this time, he moved into the Contracting arena in a number of Business Development Director roles , enjoying success in differing energy related markets. His passion is developing enduring client relationships alongside mentoring, empowering and motivating high performing teams to continually over deliver in terms of existing and new customer requirements.

Prasad Marathe

Technical Director

Prasad Marathe has over 12 years’ experience of working within the utility and oil & gas industries. Beginning his career at Balfour Beaty followed by SSE Transmission in Scotland, Prasad relocated and joined the ESM Power team in 2019. Prasad leads technical innovation at ESM Power and oversees the various creative and design projects for clients.

Johnathan Brooks

MIET

Operations Director

Johnathan joined the ESM Power team in July 2023 and has over 30 years’ experience in the electrical industry, holding senior management positions with several organisations including Balfour Beatty, Wood and Linxon. Johnathan’s experience will strengthen the operational and delivery capability enabling successful outcomes for all our clients during ESM Power’s continual growth.

Atish Dalai

Electrical Tendering Manager

Atish Joined ESM in October 2022, an Electrical Engineering Graduate with MBA having worked in the engineering industry for over 19 years. Atish previously worked for CG(Crompton Greaves Ltd), ABB and Brush Transformers in various leadership roles and brings in-depth technical knowledge in EHV Projects up to 400kV including Renewable Energy and Data Centre Projects.

Mike Savage

Design Manager

Mike joined ESM in 2022 as Design Manager having worked in the engineering industry for over 18 years, including the Oil & Gas, Aviation and Energy sectors. Mike previously worked for several major design consultancies and a large Independent Connection Provider, he brings with him a depth of knowledge in high voltage generation and distribution up to 400kV. As the Design Manager, Mike manages a team of experienced Design Engineers.

Jordan Ransom

MEng (Hons) MIET

Customer Networks Manager

Jordan is responsible for the overall management of the Customer Network and Administration teams at ESM Power Ltd. He is an accomplished Engineer and Senior Authorised Person with over 15 years of wide-ranging electrical engineering experience. In addition to his extensive experience of leading teams to deliver schemes of electrical work, Jordan has developed a wealth of knowledge and understanding of high and low voltage distribution systems.

Alan Makin

Bsc (Hons)

Tendering Manager

Alan is the Tendering Manager at ESM power. Alan began his career as a Quantity Surveyor and moved to Commercial Management and Bid Manager before joining ESM Power in 2021. Alan has a wealth of civils and cabling experience from working across a wide range of electrical projects from DNO Connection and EHV frameworks, EHV Projects up to 400kV including Interconnectors, Substation Builds and Renewable energy projects such as Wind farms and Solar.

Martin Burns

BSc (Hons), Dip NEBOSH

Head of HSQE

Martin is the Head of HSQE at ESM Power Ltd and holds a first-class degree within Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management and diplomas in both safety, environmental and engineering disciplines. Martin is the strategic lead on HSQE strategy across the business, promoting continual improvement, business culture and maintaining compliance with both legislative and business procedural requirements.

The health, safety and welfare of all employees and the public is of paramount importance to ESM Power. Our health and safety policy and performance are reviewed regularly by the Board of Directors, ensuring they are effective, relevant and consistent with our objectives and activities.

High voltage health and safety

Working with high voltage equipment requires the highest level of risk management to ensure a safe working environment. Our experienced team includes electrical engineers, high voltage authorised personnel (AP and SAPs), designers, fitters and jointers supported by in-house HSQE professionals - who are all dedicated to providing a healthy and safe working environment.

● Our emergency response line operates 24 hours a day
● Our safety rules are all accredited.
